Contracting Opportunty: Residential Appliance Replacement Program

The purpose of the Residential Appliance Replacement Program is to reduce energy consumption of Kansas households through the disposal and replacement of outdated, inefficient and unsafe appliances.
 
Who is eligible?
To participate in the program, the following conditions must be met:
 
*The applicant is a Kansas resident; the household where the work is being done must be located within the State of Kansas; the property to be assisted is the applicant's primary residence.

*The applicant owns the appliance to be replaced (or the renter gains permission from the property owner) and appliance is at least 10 years old.

*The applicant household's Adjusted Gross Income does not exceed 75% of state median income.
 
What appliance's can be replaced?
Appliances allowed by the program include:

*Refrigerators
*Gas Water Heater
*Gas Forced Air Furnace
*Central Air Conditioner
*Window Air Conditioner
 
Objectives of Residential Appliance Replacement Program Are To:
 
*Provide homeowners and renters the opportunity to replace old, inefficient and unsafe appliances with new, energy-efficient and environmentally-friendly models.

*Reduce residential energy consumption, lower household energy bills and provide environmental benefits

Eligible participants can use 'any' contractor they choose; as long as they are the lowest qualified bidder. Once the work is completed successfully, the participants voucher will be given to the contractor who can remit it to the State of Kansas for payment.
