Turner School of Construction Management Classes - Kansas City Kansas

Please see the attached document for information on classes for the Turner School of Construction Management. For the first time the classes will be held in Kansas City, KS.
 
These classes are designed to enhance the technical and managerial skills of small minority and women-owned businesses, in order to make a profit and build a reputation of efficiently managing a construction contract. The skills learned from the classes will help promote future work and increase your ability to be competitive. The program assists firms in obtaining certification from the City, as well as Turner Subcontractor Certification.

 

How will participants be selected?

• Businesses should be in the construction industry and/or a construction related field.

• Your firm should be a growing M/W/DBE firm.

• Space is limited to

40 participants.

• No more than two people per company are able to attend the classes due to demand.

• You will be notified if you have been selected to participate in the 2011 class.

 

Upon completion of this program you will be able to:

• Describe necessary elements for being a contractor

• Identify challenges of being a contractor

• Describe fundamentals of estimating

• Define construction management

• Describe effective methods for locating, managing and scheduling work

• Explain key concepts of contract management

• Locate resources within the construction industry

• Describe Turner's expectations of contractors

 

How much do the classes cost?

Turner, along with our sponsors, will pick up the entire cost of the program; there is

NO fee or tuition for the participants.
